She gave me my first job in early childhood education that led me to the career of a lifetime. I will be forever grateful for my years at Coleridge and the Katzter family.
May her memory be a blessing.

Shirley was a shining star. A teacher, a mother, a dedicated wife, and friend to many. May she honored forever in the book of life and love. I love you Mom. Your beloved son, Mosel.

Shirley Katzter was a star among people. From modest beginnings as a single child to European immigrants, Shirley rose to become a highly educated and parental mentor to not only her two children, but to thousands of children who passed through the halls of the highly regarded Coleridge School and Day Camp in Brooklyn, NY which she ran with her husband George from the early 1960s until it’s final years just before the turn of the century. A lover of the theater and arts, Shirley shared her passions for literature and the arts with her family and friends alike. We will always remember Shirley for her wit, her knowledge, and most importantly her love.
I love you, Mom.
