Shirley Loxdale Obituary
Born in Vernon, BC, she was the daughter of the late William J and Winnifred Graham.
Shirley enjoyed gardening, oil painting, handy crafts, and looked forward to her winters in Florida among many friends. More than anything she enjoyed spending her time with her family.
Survived by her loving husband Wayne; sons, Ray (Kelly) and Glenn (Becky) Loxdale; sisters, Beverley (Jerry) O'Neil, Judy Befus (Laurie Lyons); grandchildren, Julia, Zachary, and Joy. Predeceased by brother, William A. (Donna) Graham.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 11 from 4-6 pm at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Memorial service will be held on Friday, February 12 at 11:00 am, Pastor David Crook officiating, in J. A. Snow Memorial Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sandy Lake Academy http://sandylakeacademy.ca/ and A Better World Canada http://www.abwcanada.ca/giving/.

Wayne, Ray, Kelly, Glen, Becky. We are so sorry to hear of the passing of your wife, mom & grandma. There will be a big emptiness here on earth and it will be hard to adjust. Our prayers will be with you all. It was a pleasure to have met Shirley a few times and her laughter is still vivid in our memories. We know she was someone special, evidence is in her boys. Marion and I wish to convey our deepest sympathy to Shirley's family. I, Ed, have some very fond memories while we lived at Grandview Flats, attending school, enjoying Sabbath School together at the church, and going to socials at the Neufelds and Watts. There were MV meetings in which we took part. We played ball behind the school. We had Mr. Tetz and Mr. Nelson as teachers/principals. We picked potatoes together. Now Shirley is at rest. She was an inspiration to many. We want to meet her on the Resurrection Morning.

Wayne, Ray, Glenn, so very sorry to hear of Shirley's passing. She and I had many a good laugh together when we were busy ladies at work at FVAA. She was devoted to Adventist education and in her role as bus driver and secretary was well loved by the students. She saved many a teacher's neck by her willingness to do what needed to be done to make the day run more smoothly. We were sorry when the BC Conference Office took her away from us to work there.
