Shirley F. Martin

Shirley F. Martin, 81, of Charleston, passed away on February 20, 2017 at CAMC Memorial Hospital. She was born on November 23, 1935 in Charleston. Her life was spent taking care of her 10 children, whom she loved dearly. She was a very kind hearted person and had a great sense of humor. She found great personal satisfaction in helping others especially with her job as a home health aide. She was a strong individual who endured life's ups and downs with dignity and a positive attitude. She treated all people with respect and loved animals. She was a very special person and she will be in our hearts forever. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Russell and Edna Viola Martin; sisters, Mildred Tackett and Frieda McQuerry; grandson, Cledith (Lee-Lee) Falls. Shirley is survived by her husband, William J. Martin, Sr.; children, Karen Mannahan, Cledith Falls, Thomas Crouch, Timothy Crouch, Terry Crouch, James, Crouch, Robert Crouch, Julie Martin, Sandra Martin, and Billy Martin; brother-in-law, Homer McQuerrey; 29 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren. A service to Honor the Life of Shirley will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Snodgrass Funeral Home, South Charleston. Family and Friends may visit two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston.
