McSORLEY, Shirley (nee Bane)
February 16, 1930 – July 17, 2017
Peacefully at Charles-Lemoyne Hospital. Predeceased by her husband Jack and leaves behind her sons Michael (Wendy), Steven (Carmelle), Jack (Debbie), Hal (Janice) and Mark (Sandy). She will also be greatly missed by her eleven grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. Greatly missed by her brother Douglas Bane (Joan), many nieces and nephews and relatives, especially brother-in- law, Sandy McSorley. Shirley missed her husband, Jack, every day since his passing. She was happiest when surrounded by family especially at Christmas. Early years were filled with family camping trips, her sons' hockey games and family meals. Construction of three houses, two in Brossard and the other on Brome Lake were major projects that mom and dad did together over the years. As time went on the family grew with grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Memorable trips to Europe, Australia, Thailand and Scotland in later years were often reminisced as she reminded us to travel while we were young. The family will receive condolences on Friday, July 21 from noon to 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Anglican Church, 321 Empire, Greenfield Park, Quebec, J4V 1V4. The funeral to follow at 2:00 p.m. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Mont Royal Residence in St. Hubert for their compassion and exceptional care during her last days. Donations to St. Paul's Anglican Church and to The Charles Lemoyne Foundation would be greatly appreciated. A glass of wine in Shirley's memory will bring a smile to her face.
