Townsend - Shirley Hobbs Myers, aged 75, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Townsend, Tennessee on October 25, 2024, after a long and valiant battle with cancer. She is preceded by her parents Charles and Clara Hobbs and her brother Donald Hobbs. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, William Myers; brother, David Hobbs; sister-in-law, Ann Hobbs; stepdaughter, Kate Myers Coble; step-grandson, Aiden Coble and uncle, Porter Fults. Shirley was known for her warm, friendly, and fun-loving personality, which endeared her to family and many friends who will miss her dearly. An avid golfer, she also had a passion for quilting and needlework, hobbies that brought joy not only to her but also to those fortunate enough to receive one of her beautiful creations. Honoring her wishes, there will be no funeral service or receiving of friends. A celebration of Shirley's life will be held at Smith Funeral Home in Maryville, Tennessee, at a date to be determined by her family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Shirley's memory can be made to Covenant Health Hospice in Knoxville, Tennessee, an organization that provided her with exceptional care during her final days. There will be a Celebration of Shirley's life held on Saturday, May 03, 2025 at the Smithview Pavilion from 2:30 until 4:30 PM, 601 Smithview Dr., Maryville, TN 37803.
