SHIRLEY NORDENBERG Obituary
Age 90, died on Friday, December 4, 2015. She was a resident of the Villages at St. Barnabas and had been hospitalized at UPMC Passavant. She was a native of Superior, Wisconsin and also had lived in Duluth, Minnesota, Naperville, Illinois and Spring Hill, Florida, as well as Pittsburgh. In addition to being a committed wife and mother, she had worked as a teacher and librarian. She also was an avid and very good bridge player and had traveled extensively. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Nordenberg; her parents, Alfred and Evelyn Tappen; her sister, Loverna (Larry) Anderson; and her in-laws, Carl and Hulda Nordenberg. She is survived by her three children, Jon Nordenberg of Madison, Wisconsin, Lynne Nordenberg of Hilton Head, South Carolina and Mark (Nikki) Nordenberg of Pittsburgh; and by seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She will be buried with her husband in the National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida, following a private family ceremony. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Barnabas Charities, 5850 Meridian Road, Gibsonia, PA 15044, to the Passavant Hospital Foundation, 9100 Babcock Boulevard, Pittsburgh, PA 15237 or to a charity of your choice.
