My Dear Sister and best Friend. Until now I have been unable to gather my thoughts and put them into words. Daily, I miss you. Even now, I shed tears while writing this to you. Words are feeble attempts to express what the heart feels for someone as wonderful as you. Many times during the day I find myself wondering about something, esp family somethings, and I'll think, "I gotta call Shirley." Or, I think, "I'll ask Shirley, she'll know" Or maybe I want to share a sorrow or a joy or just something on the internet and I want so much, as I used to do, connect up to my Sister and discuss it. I miss so much the little jokes and games you'd send me. Thank God, I have the files, "Shirley's funnies" "From Shirley" "Things to keep from Shirley" and the best one of all, "Sister Talk" I've kept them all, Lovey. When I read them and see the cute emoticons you'd send and the colors you emphasized words with, I am in your presence and it's almost like I could reply back to you again. To hear your precious laugh again or to tell you things I want you to know would satisfy the longing I feel for you. You lived your life, you treasured your family, especially extended family. I want you to know how very proud I was and am now of you and your zest for life. If you could reach out, in ANY way to help someone, you did. There were so many folks at the wake. EVERY one had some story of how you had made THEIR lives better, how you took care of THEM or looked out for THEIR needs. I love you, my little Sister, and I miss you. Fifty-nine years is not enough time. I know you are at peace, with our beloved family and decorating Heaven for the rest of us coming after you. You were a true Artist and Writer. I know the "Prospect Corner" of Heaven will be beautiful. We talked about that often, you and I. The "Prospect Corner" of Heaven. Of the 3 of us "Glanding Sisters", you met Jesus first! THAT makes me smile, for I know you are safe with Him. No one will ever take your place in my heart. I love you, Shirley. Emilie

Goodbye, Aunt Shirley...
There aren't words enough to convey just how much you are loved. And God knows, there aren't nearly enough words to say just how much you are missed. :( What I wouldn't give right now just to hear you laugh again or see that million-watt smile for just a second! You get to laugh & smile w/ the Angels now...try not to outshine them too much! ;)
Love & prayers to Uncle John, Brian, Wes & Johnny too...& *hugs* from me, Dave, Chris & Liz

My condolences to John in the loss of your wife, Shirley, and to Brian, John, and Wesley in the loss of your mother. I remember when your family visited in California and was able to attend the annual Jeske Descendants Family Picnic in 1986. What fun we had that day with all the first, second, third, etc. cousins getting together. We are meeting again this coming Sunday, June 28, and Shirley will be remembered by her extended family. God bless all of you - her husband, her sons, her grandchildren, and great-grandchild.
Love, Sylvia Byers.

Mommy,

There are not any words I could write that would properly express the amount of LOVE I have for you. You are the most beautiful & intelligent person I know. Your sense of humor and love for life & family has no boundaries. I am forever grateful for the life you have given me. I treasure every moment we have shared as mother and son. I will always be your "baby" boy.

I LOVE YOU.
