David, Bruce, Brenda and families - my deepest condolences on the passing of your mom. As my favourite aunt, I always appreciated more than you know the visits to me in Toronto when in the province visiting David. She was funny, truthful and always had a smile on her face and a sparkle in her eyes. I know when I'll think of her it will be with a smile on my face and a tear in my heart.

So sorry to hear of Shirley's passing. I fondly remember them visiting the bakery each working day at coffee time. We shared many stories about our families while enjoying a coffee and donut. She will be missed!

Dear Bruce and family,
Your Mom was a gem. Although we did not know her well or spend much time with her, the times we met were always fun and full of laughter. I see her smile. I feel her kindness and independence and sense of fun. You will miss her.
We send you strength and peace as you adjust to life without her presence. Her legacy to you is all she taught you through your lives, both in word and deed. That is quite a treasure to be left with and wonderful example in living to follow.
Hugs,
Keith and Hazel Head

We were so sorry to hear of Shirley's passing; Thankfully , she wasn't hospitalized for long. It is always a shock and a sadness to loose your Mom; you think she will live forever, but such is not the case. However ,you have warm and happy memories to hold in your heart for all time.
It was so nice to see her this last fall, a lovely women ; she and I shared our birth date with a few years in between!

So happy that Shirley came to visit Cape Breton last May. Thank you, David for making that visit possible. We went to school here at Lake Ainslie for a short time after the war when Uncle Mac thought he would like to return home, , but jobs were scarce. His dream was to open a store. Aunt Mabel, Sylvia and Shirley came too. What a lovely memory of those few months with us. Until we meet again....... Love, Cathy, and D J.
