Shirley Spinelli

SPINELLI, SHIRLEY A. (DUCETTE) 79, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on November 30, 2014. Shirley was the wife of the late Joseph J. Spinelli, the daughter of the late Germaine (Truchon) and Edward Ducette, and beloved step-daughter of Richard Avedisian. Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and worked as a buyer and sales person for People's Department Store and as a seamstress for Bob Francis and Anne Kaye. Shirley is survived by her loving daughters, Diane Rianna, Donna Ferrante and her husband Nicholas, and Denise Brophy and her husband Vinny with whom she resided for the past year during her final stages of emphysema. Shirley leaves a legacy of warmth, love and family devotion to her 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and will be remembered fondly for her feisty unconditional love, her family dinners and especially "grandma's" meatballs. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 9 A.M. from the A.A. Mariani and Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St., Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. in St Ann Church, 280 Hawkins St., Providence. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Calling hours will be Wednesday morning 9 to 10:30 AM.
