Shirley Winters Obituary

Published by Chicago Tribune from Jul. 29 to Aug. 1, 2021.
Shirley Anne Winters (born Kwiatkowski, renamed Flowers) of Huntley, Illinois, gracefully passed away at age 79 on July 27, 2021, as a result of seizures caused by a stroke she worked tirelessly to recover from in 2020. Born July 30, 1941, on the southside of Chicago, she was class president of Jones Commercial HS in 1959 and voted Most Outstanding Student. From 1965 on, she was the most outstanding mother to four children she dearly loved and supported without condition or hesitation. Longtime principal's secretary at TF South HS, she was known for her organization and boundless energy. After her retirement, she was most fond of spending time with family and friends, as well as traveling the globe. She was predeceased by her parents, Steve and Irene Flowers, to which she was a devoted daughter, and her husband Fred Winters. She is survived by her four children: Nancy (Colby), Jim (Lisa), Chris (Michelle), Sheryl (Justin), her twelve adoring grandchildren, many lifelong friends, and the ocean of love she had for them. A memorial mass will be held at 10 am on July 31, 2021, at St. Mary's Church in Huntley, Illinois with visitation at 9 a.m.

I met your mom years ago by Andy's (your cousin“s) house. I never forgot how nice and welcoming she was to me. We had a pleasant conversation which of course included shopping at Oak Brook. Deepest Sympathy.

Shirley was a special lady who I worked alongside of for a number of years at TF South. May her memory be for a blessing.
