Sincere condolences to Sylvia, Neil, Richard, Jim and Bill and all those who knew and loved him. God gave him a long life, and he lived it so well. Take comfort that he loved and was loved and made this world a better place for every one of us, repairing that which was torn - in our bodies, in our lives, and in the world.

Dear Sylvia, Neil, Richard, Jim and Bill,

Melanie and I were very saddened to learn of cousin Sidney's passing. We're in Florida through the end of April and thus unfortunately were unable to attend Sid's Memorial service.

To me, Sid was the Patriarch of a larger nuclear family. I always admired Sid's class and demeanor, and feel lucky to have been included in your larger family. I will never forget the recent dinner you and Sid hosted for the family at the Fish Market Restaurant.

Sid's memory will always be cherished.

With love and great respect,

Paul and Melanie Leventon

I cherish the memory of our last meeting when I heard stories of Sidney's studies together with my father from high school through medical school, stories of activism in support of Soviet Jewry, and stories of his granddaughter reading from the Torah. I continued to enjoy seeing his picture together with Sylvia on facebook and receiving mazal tovs on the births of my grandchildren. I send my condolences to Sylvia, Jean, Niel, Richie, Jim,and Billy. May his memory be a blessing.

Dr Busis was my doctor for many years. I am so very sorry for your loss. He was a kind and compassionate person. Until I saw a special on Jonas Salk, I never knew he worked on the research. He must have been very humble. What a legacy he leaves behind in his life's work, but especially in his family. Your family will be in my thoughts. My deepest sympathy to all of you.

Sid was my mentor in Neurotology. We became friends in 1969 and had a friendship for many years.. He was a true intellectual but was also humble, gentle and caring. He will be missed but never forgotten

I worked with Sid Busis for many years in committees of a large national ENT society. Sid was an avid student with a lifelong love of learning and a warm friend. One of those people that you may see only once a year, but always looked forward to seeing. I was touched to learn from his obituary of all his wonderful community service and family life. Godspeed, Sid.

Dear Neil,
My condolences to you and your family on the passing of your father. I'm happy that I was able to help him see a little better in his later years. He was always kind and cheerful and expressed great faith in me whenever he visited my office.

I worked for dr busis in the early 60's as a medical secretary. He was a kind and generous man who I greatly admired. I remember his sons as toddlers. Dr Busis made quite an impression on my life and I thought and talked about him often. I know his father was a pharmacist and I married a pharmacist. Your family is in my prayers and may I say you were very lucky to have him in your life for so many years.

I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of a man I am privileged to to have called a good friend. Sidney Busis was a role model in every respect: a man of great intellect, hard work, accomplishment, faith, devotion to family and friends, and philanthropy. He was a person of principle and decency. My passion for politics and world affairs helped to bring us together. He took a great interest in people, wanting to know more about them, and he treated everyone as a person of value. His sense of humor was priceless. He used it to enlighten me many times on the challenges of aging. What a wonderful, long life, one which shall be a blessing for all eternity. God bless his beloved Sylvia and all of the members of his loving and close-knit family.
