Sidney Roscoe Durbin, Jr. 68, was born December 28, 1942 and passed away September 27, 2011, at his home in Coldsprings, Texas with loved ones by his side.
Ceremonies will be held Friday, September 30 at Green Lawn Memorial in New Caney, Texas at 1p.m. and will be laid to rest at Earthman Resthaven in Houston, Texas.
Sidney was a devoted family man; there was nothing he enjoyed more than his family. He was a very dedicated friend to many and would do anything for those he came in contact with. Sidney served in the Navy stationed on the USS Hancock. In the early 60's Sidney would sit on the steps every day at Big 3 Industries seeking employment until they hired him. Sidney retired from there as General Manager after working his way up from a janitor. On December 14, 1963, Sidney married Helen Fay. Married 48 years, they were blessed with two wonderful children, to which Sidney could not have been more proud of.
He is survived by his loving wife Helen; son Michael Durbin & daughter in law, Lynn Durbin; daughter Connie Gaskill; grandson Michael Durbin Jr. & wife, Samantha; grandson Jacob Durbin & wife, Jayme; grandson Christopher Coan; grandson Joshua Coan; three great-grandchildren Blaine, Haley & BreAnna; Brother, Larry Durbin; Sisters, Deanna Durbin & Patricia Durbin.
Sidney was preceded in death by his father, Sidney Roscoe Durbin, Sr.; mother, Bessie Delores Durbin & grand-daughter, Jennifer Nicole Coan.
Sidney also leaves behind numerous friends and loved ones.
