EDWARDS, MR. SIDNEY D., JR.
Mr. Sidney D., Jr., age 76, passed away Friday, December 6, 2013 at his residence. Family hour 10 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Eliezer Church of the Apostolic Faith, 523 E. Hamilton Ave., with funeral commencing at 11 a.m. Bishop Raymond H. Dunlap officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Edwards, Jr. now lies in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12 p.m - 8 p.m. today, with the family present from 3 p.m.- 5 p.m. Mr. Sidney D. Edwards, Jr. was born September 3, 1937 in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of Dr. Rev. Sidney D. and Kathryn Edwards, Sr. Sidney was a faithful member of Eliezer Church of the Apostolic Faith. He attended Mott College and retired in 1996 from General Motors, after 32 years of service. After retirement, he worked for Enterprise of Grand Blanc and was most recently employed at Kroger in Davison. Sidney loved spending time with his family at his summer home "The Cottage" where he enjoyed fishing, boating and Bar-B-Queing. He was an avid chess and pool player and most treasured watching sports and boxing matches with his grandchildren. Mr. Sidney D. Edwards, Jr. leaves to cherish his memories: loving wife of 53 years, Blanche Lee Edwards of Davison; four daughters, Sheila (Vance) Yarbrough of Arizona, Faye (Rod) Dent, of Davison, Kathy (Abraham) Edwards of Flushing and Liz Edwards of Davison; grandchildren, Shannon, Ty, Rome, Arion, Brandon, Tay, Valencia, Cyndi, V'Avion, Atreau, Vandiah and Elijah; great-grandchildren, Nino, Vanity, Nevaeh, Giddeon, Quervo, Chelon, Chantiera, Unauxanna, Kayonna, Brooke, Tyon, T'onne, Tyson, Shabrion, Kiera and O'Raji; sister, Francine Edwards; eight nieces; two nephews; sister-in-law, Barbara Hartfield; brother-in-law, Lee Thomas, Sr.; a host of other relatives and friends including special cousin, Deborah Supawood and special nieces, Kim Edwards and Linda Willis. Mr. Edwards, Jr. was preceded in death by parents, Dr. Rev. Sidney D. and Kathryn Edwards Sr.; and brothers, Russell and Huey Edwards. The family would like to express special thanks to McLaren-Flint, Covenant Hospital of Saginaw, Select Medical Care and the Kroger family of Davison.

To the family of Sid Edwards: It is with much sadness that we read of Sid's death. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Edwards family. Please know that Sid and the Edwards family have always been special to us. We pray that you find solace in all of the great memories you have of Sid and his devotion to family. May he rest in peace.

It was with great sorrow and regret that I read of Sidney Edwards death. I didn't know him for long but I have good memories of walking the streets and knocking on doors with him. Bless his family Lord and keep them in your care.
