I read of Sydney's passing while surfing the internet to find his family. My father (Harry Sack) and uncle (Albert Sack) grew up with Sydney in Cleveland, Ohio. In fact, I had heard that my aunt, Ana Sack Friedman gave him his first mucic lessons. He was a wonderful person. As I grew up, my father would rave about him and be so proud of his accomplishments. My condolences to you.

We were so saddened to hear about the passing of our colleague and dear friend Sidney. We have known him and Teresa since our early days in Aspen and still remember vividly his beautiful violin playing and conducting.

Our most recent encounter was at the InterHarmony Summer Festivals in Germany, where we shared many meals and trips around the country. We enjoyed his company and his marvelous talent for story telling.

Sidney enriched our lives and he will be sorely missed.

A great personal sadness to read of Sidney's passing.

I remember him with great clarity and was immensely fond and respectful of him. I was grateful for the time that he spent at the Mannes College, as were his colleagues and students there.

My thoughts are with you and I send to you my condolences.

Felt like we had been punched in the stomach to learn that Sidney had died. Adam feels so fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with Sidney. He will be greatly missed. Duquesne was lucky to have a musician of such stature among the faculty.
