Sione Tamanika Lino

Our loving Father, Grandfather, Husband, and Friend, returned home peacefully to our Father in Heaven on Wednesday, June 30, 2004. He was surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren, as he made his journey home. Dad was born on December 20, 1948, in Lofanga, Haapai - Tonga, to Timote Faingaanuku Lino and Pelenaise Kavahaapai Fifita. In December 1973, he married the love of his life, Tilila Mautohi, in Diamond Bar, California. There, they began their life together and raising their family.


Dad was such a humble man, giving his unconditional love to all. He has lived a life full of hard work and constant service to others, especially the Lord. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served in many positions, including: High Councilman, member of the bishopric, High Priest Group Leader, and ending as a Sunday School teacher.


The special joys of his life were his two grandchildren, Aita and Ofa. Dad is a very special man and will be greatly missed. WE LOVE YOU, TETI!!


Dad is survived by his wife, Tilila Mautohi Lino; his seven children: Pelenaise (Sonatane) Lavemai, Viliami Mosese, Aita Nicole, Olivia Katoanga, Tua Talamatangi (Marqel), Milika Tupou, and Timote Faingaanuku (Siu) Lino; two grandchildren: Aita Kapiolani Lino and Ofa Kilolomasi Lino: and two special nieces: Sala Kapiolani Fonohema and Mavae Vai Valeti. He is also survived by three sisters: Aita Thomas (Lehi, Utah), Loleta Taufa (Orinda, California), and Mele Niloni (Tonga).


Funeral services will be Thursday, July 8, 2004, at 11 a.m., in the Provo Sunset 12th Ward Chapel, 1090 West 1020 South. Friends and family may call at the church on Wednesday evening, July 7, 2004, from 7-10 p.m.; and, on Thursday, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery.
