Slavek Novak

Slavek was born in Orlovac, Croatia to parents Anka (nee Ljuba) and Vaclav Novak. He trained as a Professional Tailor and worked in Zagreb, Croatia upon completing his training. Slavek married Elizabeta Sablic on February 22, 1954 in Grubisno Polje, Croatia. He immigrated to Canada in 1959 where he worked in the garment industry in Winnipeg, Manitoba until 1967. It was in 1967 when he moved to Vancouver, BC and ran the garment production for NETO Leathers Inc. in Gastown until he retired in 1995 and moved to White Rock, BC.
Slavek is predeceased by his wife Elizabeta who passed away on May 21, 1993 in Surrey, BC. He is survived by his sons, John Ivan (Anne Marie) Novak and their son Matthew and daughter Diana, Walter (Patricia) Novak and their son David.
Visitation will be held on Friday April 22 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Ocean View Funeral Home 4000 Imperial St., Burnaby where a Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 pm. Interment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park.
