SOLOMON MAYO SOUTHALL In Memoriam: The Passing of Solomon Mayo Southall San Angelo, Texas - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Solomon Mayo Southall, who departed from this world on Saturday, January 21, 2024, at the age of 41. He was born in Nacogdoches, Texas, on August 18, 1982. His journey in this world was filled with love, laughter, and a legacy that will forever be cherished. Solomon is survived by his daughter, Trinity Southall, parents, Ann and Si Southall, twin brother, Spence, and his wife, Callie Southall, along with their children, Chayse Torrey and Scotti Kate, his sister, Sky Southall, and her partner, Erin Lane, and their two children, Gunner and Gypsy. He and his beloved aunt, Jane Hays Smith, shared a special bond. Sol is also survived by his best four-legged friend Mac. Sol grew up in San Angelo, attending McGill Elementary School, Lee Junior High, and Central High School, where he excelled not only in academics but also in the world of sports. A true sports enthusiast, Sol's passion for football led him to reach great heights by placing in the national finals of the Punt, Pass, and Kick competition. Sol was also a three-year all-district quarterback while attending Central High School, a testament to his dedication and talent. In 2008, Sol received his Bachelor of Science in Business from Angelo State University while graduating summa cum laude. Following in the footsteps of his grandfather and father, Sol pursued a career as a coach. His coaching journey took him to various institutions, including Sul Ross, Earlham, Sweetbriar, and West Coast Prep, where he left an indelible mark on the lives of countless young athletes. Sol is preceded in death by cousins James Hays Smith and Seth Southall, and grandparents Olive Hays, Walter Hays, Morris Southall, and Lorene Southall. Their memories will forever be intertwined with his legacy. Honorary pallbearers for Solomon's final journey include Dan Southall, Israel Joiner, Gunner Couch, Chris Smith, Lonnie Middleton, Derek Noble Garrett Tindol and Spence Southall; a testament to the friendships and bonds that Solomon forged throughout his life. Solomon will forever be remembered for his unwavering love, his dedication to his family, and his passion for the game of football. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he find eternal peace in the company of those who went before him. A memorial service to celebrate Solomon's life will be held at 2:00 on Saturday January 27th at First United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in his memory. Rest in peace, Sol, for your legacy will forever echo throughout time. You will be dearly missed, but your spirit lives on in our hearts.
