Sonal always took on every challenge that crossed her path and it's certainly made her the person she was. Always dreaming of being a marine biologist, even becoming certified as a scuba diver, unfortunately after her first dive, having issues with her ears, it was to be a fun memory. Her love for her animals extended onto land as well as sea, her cat Sugar washer shadow for 18 years! Dee O Gee, a true companion at home and on the road, the dog everyone wished they had, and was happy to have Sonal, who gave her the best life for 17 years! As a young adult she enjoyed being on a bowling league for many years... she was a fierce competitor and often considered the big league!! And she could have done it! A fun game with friends and a day at the lake turned into the date of a life time...After an exciting courtship Sonal meet Jimmy and they married in 1993. They raised two children. But there were often more children being raised under that roof! Those who knew "Sonny" called her a "second mom" and a friend for life. Always ready with a smile and a big heart. After her children started becoming more involved in school activities, so did she!! She took great pride and enthusiasm inbeing involved in her children's loves and interests. When they got to Bullard Talent School of the Arts, she jumped in with everything she had! She was a true drama mama! Her diversified skill set and warm presence could be tough when she had to be, but things got done! Her compassion made every event special. Her time wasn't limited campus life!! Every other year she would go on the road out of state, to help show off the acting talents of her kids! Later becoming Treasurer of the Friends of Roosevelt School of the Arts in support of her children. Not only did she aid in raising money, attend the ticket booth for sales, she also kept hungry theater kids fed, continuing her support in Friends of Roosevelt School of the Arts after both children graduated from Roosevelt. While numbers wasn't always her game, she started working for an answering service with the old corded switchboard! Then she began her journey into bookkeeping, she worked at Bedrogians, and a packing house as the only bookkeeper to later running the entire operation. Her diversified knowledge had no end... she worked for a notable attorney, became the full time bookkeeper for her church, and later settled into the medical field. Wrapping up her career holding multiple positions for three prominent doctors. As time went on, the family acquired the house at the coast. Many happy times were shared there with friends and family. For many years they enjoyed spending their 4th of July and New Year's there... and you always knew the visit included a trip to Dockside! She cherished her hobbies, she was a fan and avid collector of several kinds of memorabilia including figures, books and autographs from Star Trek, Star Wars, Marvel movies, especially Guardian of the Galaxy and her all time favorite Tinker Bell! In recent years she got wanted scooter. Drove to Alameda, picked one out and she was on the road! Jimmy built her a trailer so they could go to the beach and ride... Her and Jimmy often rode together, her on the scooter, him on the Harley! took her cooking hobby to a whole other level, she was always searching new recipes to try and the kitchen pantry rivaled anything you see on the cooking channel, where many ideas came from! Of course Christmas in the kitchen was filled with the smell of baking among other things was her infamous international Bundt cake! Recently her and Jimmy finished an outside kitchen, now they had his and hers! Doing tag team dinners with her inside and him outside, she was so excited to help him put it all together and no doubt fully stocking it with every kitchen gadget he could ever want!!Leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her, we will carry her love and wisdom in our hearts forever, eternally grateful for the life she shared with us.
