Sondra Sobelman Moyed

Sondra Moyed (Sandy) passed away on September 20, 2025, at the age of 86 after a lengthy illness.

Born in Philadelphia to Louis Sobelman and Beatrice Senderoff Sobelman, Sandy was the eldest of three daughters and a devoted big sister to Debbie Hughes and Renee Passic.

From an early age, Sandy carried herself with determination, courage, and a resilient spirit that guided her through every obstacle. A lifelong learner, she graduated from Overbrook High School and continued her studies at St. Joseph's University and the University of Houston. She went on to break barriers in business, serving as Vice President of Etto Corporation in Houston at a time when it was rare to see women in executive leadership. Sandy later built a decades-long career as a respected real estate broker, where her sharp mind and business acumen left lasting impressions on both colleagues and clients.

Family was at the center of Sandy's life. She leaves behind her children, Dan Apt, Alysse Musgrave, and Karl Moyed; her six grandchildren, Morgan, Emma, and Kerby Moyed; Lia Musgrave; Eric Apt and Jessica Buffaloe (Apt); her sister Renee; daughter-in-law Grey, and many more extended family members, friends, and colleagues who cherished her. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur Apt, son Dean, sister Debbie, and former husband David Moyed.

Sandy will be remembered as a brilliant woman with a fierce sense of determination, a generous heart, and a deep devotion to her family. Her grandchildren, who knew her simply as MomMom, were her greatest joy. She lived boldly, loved deeply, and will be missed beyond measure.

In keeping with Sandy's wishes, no funeral or memorial service will be held. Her ashes will be interred at a later date in Dallas, Texas, alongside her beloved son Dean.
