There is a little less sunshine in the world today. Sonny Chao, a kind and gentle man, with a brilliant mind and a passion for duty that gave added meaning to call him my friend. Wally, Anacapa Technologies, Inc.

Sonny was not just a colleague but a friend. I had the utmost respect for him, as he was a brilliant man! He had a kind heart and never had a bad word to say about anyone. He was determined, free-spirited and had a zest for life. I feel blessed to have had him in my life for the past 4 years.

Sonny's free wheeling companion that no doubt led to some of his adventures. I always tried to buy it from him, but he wouldn't part with it!

Sonny was a dear friend and colleague who I spent many a day with in destinations plush sometime and dangerous at other times. No matter where, with Sonny you always knew you had a trusted friend by your side. Sonny was the consummate professional on the job and a joy off the job. Along with a few other guys who travelled together often, he was one of the "crew" ... at times even the wrecking crew. Sonny was a true adventurer, and I remember trips to Mexico, Brazil, and Costa Rica with Sonny and the "crew" that were historic. Sonny was not a big guy on the outside, but he was HUGE on the inside where it counts most. Sonny was always a gentleman, but woe be the person who might wish to challenge him to drink ... or to eat spicy foods! Some of us will remember seeing Sonny sweat ... not from strenuous exercise but from the hottest chili peppers known to man! I never made it back to Vietnam with Sonny or back a second time to Costa Rica that he enjoyed so much, but I wish I had. I tried numerous times this past year to reach him and regret not connecting, but I assume that's because he wasn't doing as well as he wanted his buddies to know. I'll miss Sonny greatly, but I trust that he's ridden off to a glorious sunset. Not on horseback, but surely in his jeep that also embodied his free spirit. For Sonny was a Cowboy to the end . . . bigger than this one life we see here on earth. I hope now that I can add two pictures for others to remember him by. With Sadness John Toigo

I only had the pleasure of sharing my time with Sonny on two occasions, once during an audit and subsequently at my home. I was struck by his mild manners and kindness. He was proud to speak of his family. He will be missed...I extend my condolences for your loss.

I remember Sonny with soccer ball hanging from the jeep - ready to play after a hard day of work while happily bragging about his family. He was so proud of you. I am so sorry for your loss.
