OSHUST, Sophie (nee Din)
August 16, 1930 – March 12, 2015
It is with heavy hearts, the family of Sophie Oshust announces her passing on March 12, 2015 at the age of 84 years. Starting in 1975, Sophie became a proud owner of Shumka Ukrainian Foods, where she ran her business with her beautiful smile and friendly service.
As beloved mother, baba, sister and aunt, Sophie will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her son, Larry Oshust (Donna Richardson); daughter, Heather (Blaine) Manning; grandchildren, Justin Manning, Lindsay (Daniel) Drummond, Jocelyn Manning (Matt Jahnke) and Shelby Oshust; sister, Rosie Ewashko; brother, Walter Din and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Sophie was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Mike; sisters, Jenny, Mary and Olga; and brother, Alex.
The family extends their sincere thanks for all the loving care and compassion given to Sophie by all those involved at Capital Care Norwood, Unit 4.
Prayers Wednesday, March 18 at 8:00 p.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 – 111 Avenue, Edmonton.
Divine Liturgy Thursday, March 19 at 10:00 a.m. at Exaltation of the Holy Cross Ukrainian Catholic Church, 9003 – 153 Avenue, Edmonton. Reverend Janko Herbut officiating with interment in St. Michael's Cemetery, 13819 – 82 Street, Edmonton.
