It is 12 years today that you left us. We have thought of you every day. We both wonder what you would be like today. You would be 22 years old. I'm sure you would still be the same rambunctious kid as you were at age 10. Always wanting to help, always on the go. Racing your race car or skate board. We miss you so much but we both know we will be seeing you not to long in the future. We love you Spence. Gramma and grampa.

I was in elementary school when you passed and all of your classmates have graduated high school and are about 19/20/21 and I just want you to know, I still think about you even after all these years. Still wonder who you would've been and what you'd look like now. I miss you, you were really sweet and I had a huge crush on you back in elementary. Rest easy Spencer. GO HAZELWOOD MUSTANGS!!!

Craig, Dawn and Mariah,
It's so hard to understand why God allowed this all to happen. Spencer was such a loving and fun grandson. Dad and I thank God each day for the wonderful 10 years that we had him here. We know he is safe and in God's loving arms now. Someday we will all be together again.
We love you,
Mom & Dad

Dawn, Craig & Mariah:
As many others have said before me the best comfort I can leave you with is knowing that Spencer is in a better place even as much as everyone will miss him. Just remember there will be a day everyone who trusts in God will see him again. Stay strong and remember to be there for each other.

To everyone who has been so wonderful to our family in this time of sorrow, We thank you. Spencer will be missed greatly. We are sadden but not angry. We feel the emptiness of him gone, but know that he is with us in spirit. When an obstacle is put in front of us, we look to Spencer to guide us through it. The road ahead will be difficult and long. Your support will mean a lot to us.
God Bless you all and live life to its fullest. Keep Smiling.

Our class will not be the same without Spencer's constant smile, cheerfulness, and amazing sense of humor. I'm so grateful to have been Spencer's fifth grade teacher and watch him blossom this year as a student. My heart goes out to you.

For Spencer's Mom and Dad and Sister
I remember playing basketball with Spencer, he was very nice and fun to be with. I am sorry that he had to leave so soon, but I know he is in a really beautful safe place and when we die we will be able to join him forever and ever. I know it might seem a long time before you see him again but it won't seem that long when you get back with him there. I will pray for you and hope that makes it a little better.

Dear Whitman Family:
Words are not adequate to express the sadness we feel at your loss. We believe Families Are Forever and hope that the promise of eternal life can be a comfort to you as your hearts ache at the loss of your sweet son. We, like so many others don't know what to do to offer help or support, other than to tell you we are here and will do anything you might need. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Courge and faith will carry you.

Dawn, Craig, and Mariah,
We are so sorry for your loss. It has been a blessing getting to know you all during our Thanksgiving trips to Florence. I know that Darrin and Spencer want us to continue on, living life to the fullest. Know that the Lord is holding you in the palm of His hand as you go through this difficult time, and He will carry you when you feel that you can't go on. Please know that you can call us for anything; an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on, someone to yell at, laugh with, or just be with. Memories are just a thought away, and they are precious. What a great kid Spencer was, we loved his enthusiasm for life! His life was short, but he rode hard! We love you .

To Dawn, Craig and Mariah, it is by far the most difficult thing for anyone to understand or make sense of a sudden death of a child...of a brother. I am also at a loss for words, but want you to know that even in the midst of this tragedy, you have many, many friends that love you and want to do anything to help make this time easier for you - if such a thing is possible. Know that you can call on me and so many others at a given moment. I hope you will take comfort that the Lord God Almighty is holding Spencer in His arms today. He is in the most incredible place, far beyond what we can understand where there is no pain or sorrow, only complete peace and joy! As hard as it is to not have him with us, he is in the place where the Bible says every man should long for. I am certain that Spencer would want you and all the families involved to find the joy in living life again. Anything we can do to help, we are here. We love you so much.
