Stacey Jo (Trimmer) VandeKoppel, 52, passed peacefully on Sunday, October 14, 2018 in Aurora, Colorado. She was born Denver, Colorado on October 19, 1965 to J. Francis and Barbara (Robinson) Trimmer in Littleton, Colorado. She attended Natrona County High School in Casper, Wyoming and the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyoming (class of 1987). On November 24, 1990, she married Richard Alan VandeKoppel in Denver, Colorado.

Stacey worked as a Social Studies Teacher / Department Head at Douglas County High School for 22 years where she was awarded several awards and was beloved by her fellow teachers and students. She also applied her life-long love of swimming to coaching the Castle Rock Cruisers Swim Team for over 10 years. She is survived by her husband, Rick, their two children, Quinlan Joseph VandeKoppel and Kelly Lee VandeKoppel, her mother, Barbara Josephine Trimmer, brother, Bret Trimmer, and sister, Linda (Trimmer) Trimble.
