Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 29, 2025.
Stacie Taylor passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025, in Washington, DC. Born on January 2, 1960, in Washington, DC, to Roy Louis Taylor Sr. and Ruth Edwards Taylor, Stacie led a life marked by both scientific excellence and creative expression.

She earned a B.A. in Mathematics from the College of Natural Science at the University of South Florida and pursued further studies at the Defense Acquisition University and the Joint Special Operations University in Interagency Collaboration.

Stacie began her career as an engineer with Boeing on the Space Shuttle Program at Cape Kennedy, working in the vehicle assembly building. She went on to serve for 17 years at the U.S. Army National Ground Intelligence Center as a Scientific & Technical Intelligence Collections Manager and Physical Scientist. For the next 15 years, she worked as a Senior Systems Engineer at MITRE Corporation, supporting NATO operations, DIA-BICES in Brussels, and serving at the Pentagon.

In addition to her scientific pursuits, Stacie was a dedicated artist and performer. She was a beloved member of Baltimore's Fluid Movement Water Ballet Troupe and participated in numerous productions, including their 20th anniversary show, "Fluid Movement: The Water Ballet - Annabel Lee."

Stacie is lovingly remembered by her husband, Claude Stark; her sons, Zachary Grout and Ryder Grout; her grandchildren, Madelyn, Emily, and Thomas Grout; her brothers, Louis and Ray Taylor; and her nieces, Ashley and Cameron.

A celebration of life titled "Stacie's Space" will be held on May 17 at 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Fluid Movement's Glitter Fund at https://secure.givelively.org/donate/fluid-movement-inc/glitter-fund.
