Stacy Hartline Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Aug. 14 to Aug. 15, 2019.
Stacy L. Hartline (Schwedland)
June 16, 1971 - Aug. 9, 2019
Stacy L. Hartline (Schwedland), age 48, went to be with her Lord Friday, Aug. 9, 2019. She took her own life after an ongoing battle with severe depression and anxiety. Stacy was born June 16, 1971 in Oklahoma City, Okla., to Lyle W. Schwedland and Becky Lynn Grantham. She lived in Oklahoma, Texas and Oregon during her lifetime.
Stacy graduated from Baylor University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion. She was a regular on the Dean's Academic Honor List and was the co-founder of a social and service sorority Kappa Chi Alpha. Stacy later pursued nursing where she received her Registered Nurse degree in 2005 and her Master's in Nursing in 2007 from Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). She was a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and worked in both private practice and on staff with Morrison Children and Family Services. Her passion was the treatment and care of youth and pediatric mental health patients. Additionally, she was a Clinical Instructor with her alma mater, OHSU, recognized by Portland Monthly's 'Best Doctors and Nurses', inducted to the Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing and served on the Legacy Medical Group Governance Council.
Stacy was renowned for her gentle spirit, kindness, warmth, generosity, amazing smile and contagious laughter. Her deep compassion and desire to serve had a profound influence that shaped her and those around her – from family, friends to her own profession. She started at an early age serving in local ministry's like YoungLife and youth discipleship. Her freshman year at Baylor she co-founded a sorority, Kappa Chi Alpha, that continues strong to this day. Her greatest joy, passion and life achievement were her children.
Stacy is survived by her four children, twin 4-year old sons, Carlyle and Sebastian and twin 8-year olds son, Conrad and daughter, Daphne; and their father, CV Hartline, III; mother, Becky Lynn Grantham; father, Lyle W. Schwedland and partner, Debbie Gray; sister, Cheri Bertoncin and husband, Dave; brother, Haydn Schwedland and wife, Tiffany. She is further survived by nieces and nephews, and many friends that she loved dearly.
Stacy was an active participant and beloved member of St. Michael and All Angels where her service will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, Aug. 16, 2019, at St. Michael's, 1704 N.E. 43rd St., Portland, OR 97213.
For those friends and family unable to make the journey to Portland we will have a service in Oklahoma City in the next several weeks. In lieu of gifts or flowers a fund has been set-up for her children. If you would like more information on that please email: [email protected]
If you know someone who struggles with depression, anxiety or mental illness, we urge you to reach out for help. Our loved ones in the throes of this struggle need us to help them. National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 1-800-273-8255.

Stacy was one of my first and best psychiatrists. Finding this page took me back. she was very kind and intelligent; she had the self awareness to tell me when i needed more help than what she was capable of giving. At the time it may have hurt my younger self, but now i look back with respect and appreciation. she left a positive mark on my life. It may have been a few years now, but sending my condolences to everyone.

I was a colleague of Stacy's at Legacy.
Stacy was one of the most compassionate and empathetic individuals I ever worked with. Her love and passion for the children and young people she worked with was unwavering. Stacy's work will have a lasting effect on the lives of so many. My heart broke when I heard of Stacy's passing our world has lost a true hero.

Dear Lord; I light this candle for your daughter Stacy, I light it in remembrance of all she gave and endured during her lifetime: for her dedication and compassion for her patients, for her spirit-filled and selfless contributions to her church family, and for the loyalty, happiness and love she gave to her parents, children, family members and friends. I light this candle For dear Stacy Lord, thanking You for her life knowing she is now eternally Home in the presence of her Savior.

Stacy, I know you can't read this because you are in Paradise with the Christ of the ages. For that I am so thankful! But if you could hear me, you would hear me saying thank you 10 million times over for the beautiful love and influence you had on your little brother, Haydn, my future son-in-law. We love him so dearly, and we know how your love and care and tenderness towards him enriched and nurtured his young life...especially in leading him to Jesus. We can never thank you enough. You will be so very deeply missed. Your beauty inside and out was known by so many Your effect on this world will never be forgotten & will never be undone. And I feel sure that one day your beautiful children will rise up and call you blessed. I know your sister, our Tiffany, will see to that. Till we see you again, Paul and Paula
