How I miss my Dad, but it was our joy to take care of he and Mother this last 17 years as they lived next door. Actually they only needed full time care the last five or six years after they gave up their drivers licenses. We loved them and they loved the Lord.

Our Grandparents
Few can bring the warmth
We can find in their embrace,
And little more is needed to bring love.
Than the smile on their face.
They've a supply of precious stories,
Yet they've time to wipe a tear,
Or give us reasons to make us laugh,
They grow more precious through the years.
I believe that God sent us Grandparents
As our legacy from above,
To share the moments of our life,
As extra measures of His love.

Dada was the BEST grandpa a girl could ever have! Over the last few days, my mind has been filled with so many cherished memories. From singing "You Are My Sunshine", in my jammies,on the front porch swing... squeezed in between Nana and Dada, to Dada pushing me to insurmountable heights in the old tire swing! The love and laughter that was always shared at Nana and Dada's house was priceless and taught us, all, how we should live our lives and treasure family moments! Dada taught us how to laugh and smile and enjoy the simple little things. The instruments that he played (the keyboard, his harmonicas, etc.), the silly songs that he sang, will be forever with us. I can still hear him singing familiar hymns in the Fargo church and it still is a beautiful sound! His wisdom and his love of God taught us all how we should live our lives. Dada not only taught us HOW to live, but lived WHAT he taught! I am amazed, daily, at his strength and perserverance through life. He always had a smile as he said, "this too shall pass"! What in incredible legacy he has left........
It is such a comfort and a joy to know, without a doubt, that Dada is in Heaven with OUR Father and is having a joyous reunion with those who have gone before him. What a wonderful place that will be when we can all be together, with Nana and Dada, our children who have passed before us and all the rest of our family, friends and fellow Believers!!
~ I love you, Dada! Thank you for the lessons in life, the incredible memories and your love of family!
Thank You, Auntie Ann and Uncle Gordon for being there throughout these years with Nana and Dada, what a tremendous gift you have been given and what a tremendous gift you gave.......thank you!! hugs to you on this day!!
