Stanley Carl Wilkerson, 66, of Granite Shoals, Texas passed away March 29, 2020. Stan was born to Lonnie Carl and Wanda (Looney) on April 30, 1953 in Tomball, Texas.
Stan was a resident of Tomball, Texas until he finished high school and joined the Unites States Army. Most of his enlistment was spent in Germany. After he received his honorable discharge, Stan went to work for the Port Terminal Railroad in Houston, Texas. He worked as a switchman and a yard master until his retirement after thirty years with the company. Retirement allowed him to leave the big city and settle in the Highland Lakes area of Texas and complete his proudest accomplishment, taking care of his parents in their older age. Stan enjoyed the slower pace of Kingsland, Texas and was upset when the second stop light in town was put up. He spent many hours with family fishing and boating on Lake LBJ, and cooking his famous pork roast, brisket, and fried catfish.
He is survived by his daughters, Dusty Wilkerson of Spring, Texas and Stacey Segovia of San Antonio, Texas; son, Jacob Carl Wilkerson of Magnolia, Texas; and brother, Paul Wilkerson of Lake Whitney, Texas. Five grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews extended family and friends also survive.
Stan is preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Wanda Wilkerson.
A private graveside service will be held at Decker Prairie Cemetery in Magnolia, Texas. An online guest registry may be signed at www.PutnamCares.com.
Stan’s Care entrusted to Putnam Funeral Home and Crematory, 145 Texas Avenue, Kingsland, Texas 78639. (325)388-0008

My prays to one of the most precious families I know. Some of my families fondest memories were spent with Stan and his family in Kingsland on the Colorado River. I love all of you. Charles, Lynn, Chuck and Kaye Lynn Burkhardt.

Memories of Stan water skiing, many years ago. His parents and mine, Mack and Lessie Upchurch, were very close in the 50's through 70's.

Jimmy and I are so sorry for the loss of Stanley and will keep all his family in our prayers. Stanley and Jenny were some of our best running buddies from back in the good old days. We have great memories of our times together and will always remember him fondly. RIP Stanley.
