YALTE, Stan
With sadness the family of Stan Yalte announce his passing on July 21, 2013 at the age of 78. He leaves behind his loving family: wife Helen; son Doug (Cheri) of Hinton, AB and daughter Jolayne (Brent) of Saskatoon; grandchildren, Vanessa (Ryan) and their children Julie, Jenna and Natalie, Katie (Bruce), Jamie (Dustin), Danielle, Joelle and Lindsay. Stan is lovingly remembered by siblings: Madeleine, Evelyn, Freida, Herb, Wilf, Doris, Ben, Phyllis, Susan, their spouses and families. He also leaves behind a loving extended family. Stan was predeceased by his son, Rod in 2004. Stan was born to Peter and Thora Yalte and raised on the farm near Compeer, AB. He moved to Calgary where he met Helen in 1954. Married in 1956, they raised their three children in various locations throughout SK while he worked in the mining industry. They settled in Saskatoon in 1967 where he worked in various jobs as a heavy duty mechanic. Stan was a fun loving man who enjoyed a good laugh with his dry wit. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, often challenging others to a card or Scrabble game. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great- grandchildren. A Celebration of Stan's life will be held on Thursday, August 8 at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church 1405 - 31 Street West. The family is grateful for the care given by the Saskatoon Cancer Clinic, Dr. Haiter, nurses Dena and Cheryl, as well as the Oncology, Chemo and Blood Departments. Stan enjoyed the laughter with these special angels who have such difficult jobs. At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Saskatoon Cancer Clinic - Patient Care to continue the refreshments given to patients and their families while receiving treatments; Holy Cross Lutheran Church; Saskatchewan Brain Injury Association or a charity of one's choice.
