Christopher Craig James, the son of Ken and Linda Craig James, was
born April 22, 1983 at Johns Hopkins hospital in Baltimore Maryland.
On August 20,2017, his spirit left his earthly vessel to be with Our
Eternal Father in heaven.
When Christopher was born, his parents believed him to be a most
precious gift from God; as this son was the happy result of their
several attempts to start their little family. He was given the name of
Christopher, to honor Christ and to acknowledge their child as an
awesome gift from the God they serve, and whose infinite wisdom
they would rely upon as they took on the happy task of rearing him.
Christopher was brought up in the Christian home of his parents, and
under the protective care of his grandparents. Surrounded by love all
of his life, he was a happy and loving child who would grow to
become a loving and sensitive man. The James' made their home in
the Calloway-Garrison Community of Northwest Baltimore. But he
hails also from the Burleith Ave community where his grandparents
(Gordon and Eula Craig) lived as well as the Bareva Rd Community
where his Grandfather (Kenneth Gerald James) resided.
Christopher received his education in the Public Schools of Baltimore
city. He attended Callaway Elementary, Roland Park Middle School,
and graduated from Baltimore City College (City), Class of 2000.
Chris also attended Morehouse College and Morgan State University.
Friendships made during his school days have been enduring. His crew
from City called him "Dough Boy" or "prophet." The guys from "The
House" have remained close as well, and are numbered amongst his
dearest friends.
Chris' interests include the computer sciences and engineering, he
loved watching movies both foreign and domestic, and he loved music
of every genre ranging from Hip-Hop to old school Rhythm and Blues.
He had an extensive collection of music which he enjoyed sharing
with family and friends. He also loved the game of football and was an
avid Ravens fan. Whenever the Ravens were playing he could be
found in front of the TV with his buddies or at home with family
cheering them on to win.
friends have remarked "Chris loved to keep you laughing."
Christopher was so smart and had a remarkably quick wit he'd employ
to find the funny side of things or to ease a tense moment, or lift a
sadness.
And so this is his legacy, his Great Love. He gave the best hugs ever
and could always sense when you needed one. Christopher was a
wonderful son. He loved his Mom and Dad with all of his heart. We
are so proud of him, as he was the joy of our lives. He loved all his
family and had a slew of cousins, aunts, uncles whom he loved, some
of whom were blood relatives and others who were extended family. It
has been said; "It takes a village to raise a child."
Christopher was blessed to have known the love, support and prayers
of the village that raised him - you know who you are. He loved you
all very much and he usually found a way to let you know that.
He was a caregiver as he helped his Uncle Marc in his final days. We
are remembering his concern over his Aunt Lorraine and the
scheduling of her medications, or Miss Jeanette who would depend
upon him to take her to the market. How he would stop by his great
Aunt Jackie's house to check on her, or his Aunt Lizzy taking her to
the doctor, or running errands for the elders whom he loved. I
remember how dearly he loved his Aunt Kay (his confidant) and the
special relationship they had and with whom he could share things he
would not share with his Mom or Dad.
Although Christopher's life on this earth was short, we know his
passing has cast a long shadow of remembrance for the many lives he
has touched on his journey. We're happy to have the blessed
assurance that he had a relationship with God, The Wonderful
Counselor, who has mercifully given us supernatural confirmation that
Christopher is with Him.
Our beautiful boy and the light of his ascension onto Heaven was so
bright that it shamed the sun itself, and caused it to hide behind the
moon. But your love could never be eclipsed. Oh Chris, this world was
never meant for one as beautiful as you. We thank God for the life of
Christopher Craig James and find peace in God's sacred promise. His
family encourages everyone to come to God and to know ... Our
Redeemer lives!
Christopher is survived by his parents Ken and Linda C. James, his
aunts Kay J Curry, Ornetta Craig, uncle Marc A. Curry, Great Aunts
Jacqueline Howard, Marjorie Hunt, Ilda Hunt, Great Uncle Martin
Hunt, his cousins Marc S. Craig Jr., Jenine D. Craig, Kendyl A. Curry,
Marc A. Curry Jr., Godfather Chet Howard Godmother Karen Brown
and a host of other relatives and friends.
P.S. No worries Weet.
Mommy and Daddy know all you tried to say, and we know it was
true. So hold on to our hearts. We'll come
get them from you. Until we meet again good guy. Kisses.

Glad to see this remembering Christopher James email. I still think of Chris a lot. I will never forget that gentle smile he always showed when he was present with my family. We were always glad to see him. God had another plan for Chris and we have to accept that plan. I pray that Ken and Linda will still continue to receive comfort and strength from our Lord. And I know that will happen. Chris, I love you in Jesus Wonderful Name! Amen!
