Stan was one of my first editors at The Post. He was unfailingly kind and always a gentleman. To his family, I am very sorry for your loss.

Remembering, reflecting and thinking about Stan and how just one of the many decisions he'd made during his life changed the life course of another literally. Without question Stan enabled a young guy's dreams, imagination and hopes to come true. There aren't any words that can express enough gratitude for his instinct and trust. There was a fork in the road, one less traveled by, and Stan chose the one just for me and that made all the difference.

My sincere condolences to your family. Stan was my parent's next door neighbor in Chevy Chase and I had the great pleasure to meet and talk to him many times when I visited. He was truly passionate about the issues of social security and retirement, and shared his views and knowledge in lively conversation. I know my parents valued his kindness and generosity.
