To The Family of Stan Ness,
Stan was on my route with Meals on Wheels. I could count on a 10 to 15 minute 'delay' on my deliveries because he had much to share with me about the U of M and the great teams of the past. Politically we had the similar ideas and we shared those together. He was the bright spot on my deliveries and is definitely missed. My condolences to the family

To The Family of Stan Ness,
I am saddened to read about Stan's passing. Most days when I worked at Ron's Market during my days at the U of M, Stan came in and made my days brighter. His love of Big Ten Football (unfortunately that included Michigan and Tommy Harmon)was fantastic and inspired me to write a my college thesis on the Rose Bowl teams of Minnesota. Sometimes I gave Stan rides downtown and we always had nice chats and he never forgot to say "thank you for the lift". I will miss you Stan.

Nancy, Eric, Laura and Amy,
I'm sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. Though I haven't seen him in probably 30 years, he will always be a part of my middle/high school memories as a parent of a good friend and as a coach..."snap those passes", "free throws make or break a game".... and who could forget his rendition of the Michigan fight song. He was respected and definitely someone to look up to - literally. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I was sorry to see your dad's obituary in the newspaper. I have many fond memories of our times spent at Lake Alex. Your family is my thoughts and prayers.

For the years that I knew him, Stan was a gentleman and a scholar of the period of the world where being civilized and honorable were daily affirmations of proud Americanism. He was the person that we celebrate in movies and stories who is a larger figure as a whole than the sum of his parts. There will be happy reminiscing about Stan when I'm "In the Mood".
Hail to the Victors!, Stan. I hope your reward is great!
