My cousin Stanley was my roommate in college and a good friend throughout my childhood. He made important contributions to medical education and diagnosis, his specialty. He was a source of diagnostics acumen for many of his colleagues. If there was a diagnostic problem his colleagues sought him out - he was that good at it.

Stan became a friend and acquaintance of ours as a fan and supporter of the traveling youth baseball team on which his son David played on for a number of years in Elmhurst, IL. David was an outstanding athlete, not only leading his high school team to the state championship, but receiving a Division I college scholarship while also being drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Stan was a proud and devoted supporter of Dave not only throughout his athletic career, but also David's stellar post-athletic career as a world renown international restaurant entrepreneur. We can speak from personal experience, Dr. Wiener was an outstanding physician. He was also a dedicated military officer, serving his country for over two decades.

Condolences to Dave and his All-American family,
Coach Doug Halpenny & family
