You would often find those people he was cooking for, drawn into his kitchen just to be in his presence. His charisma would fill a room on its own. He was was an impressive athlete, and to watch him ski down a mountain was to see the likeness of his father, full of grace and style.

Stein Jr. lived in Washington State, Florida, Alaska & California. He moved to Benicia, CA in 2005 with his wife Michelle. Beyond his professional achievements, his true love in life were his beautiful children, Finn & Lars. He is survived by his wife Michelle Hansen Eriksen, his daughter Finn & son Lars. Stein and I became friends in Santa Barbara California through his sister Ava. I was distressed to learn he had passed so young. He was kind and outgoing and I was fortunate enough to spend some quality time with him and to call him friend. His sister Ava also brought great joy into my life at that time. I think fondly of them both can only imagine what a tragedy it is for her. They say time heals all wounds but Stein Jr. was truly a force of nature. His smile i can see in my minds eye to this day. Stein Sr and the entire family,
We have admired you and morn the loss of your son Stein Jr. When we talked with you several times in the lodge you spoke so highly of him.
May you all take comfort in his accomplishments,

Such a tragic loss! May the family take comfort in Isaiah 61:1-2, 'God promises to bind up the brokenhearted and comfort all those in mourning'. Take good care.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die!
Mary Frye (1932)
....God Bless you Stein Jr & God Bless your family, you live in our memories.
