Stella Pacheco JOHNSON

JOHNSON, Stella Pacheco born July 16, 1928 passed away peacefully on March 25, 2016. Stella was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin D. "Swede" Johnson and her son, Marshall Johnson. She is survived by her daughters, Lynn Engel (Jim) and Karen Riebe (Ken) and her grandson, Marshall Riebe. Stella is a sixth generation and a pioneer family of Tucson. She attended the University of Arizona and lettered in Tennis. She later became the Executive Secretary to the Director of the University of Arizona Bookstore. After her first child she became a life-long homemaker with numerous volunteer activities. She left Tucson in 1977 and returned to Tucson in 1995 upon the death of her beloved "Swede." Stella was a kind, generous, loving, inspirational woman who made a positive difference in this world. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Stella and Swede Johnson Alumni Endowment, UofA Alumni Association. A Visitation will be on Thursday, March 31, 2016, 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 East Broadway, Tucson. A Funeral Mass will be held at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. Celebration of life to follow at the Marvin D. "Swede" Johnson Alumni building.
