STEPHANIE O'KEEFE Obituary

Published by Contra Costa Times from Mar. 2 to Mar. 4, 2012.
Stephanie Lee O'Keefe Resident of Lafayette, Ca. passed away at her home February 24, 2012 after a long battle against lymphoma. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1946 to Gloria Scates and Wallace Ridges, Stephanie grew up in Utah, Oregon and San Mateo, California. She graduated in 1965 from San Mateo High where she met her husband, Tom O'Keefe. Stephanie and Tom were married in 1967 and lived and worked in the Bay Area. Stephanie was an accomplished tennis player and business woman. Fiercely loyal and loving, she will always be remembered as an original thinker and spirited friend. Stephanie's authenticity and sense of humor will be deeply missed by everyone that knew her. She graduated from UC Berkeley with honors in 1989. Stephanie and Tom worked side by side as the owners of David F. O'Keefe Company, a successful site furnishings business. She took great pride in her work and would have retired later this year. Stephanie is survived by her husband Tom O'Keefe, daughter Kelly O'Keefe, granddaughter Charlotte O'Keefe Stralka, mother Gloria Scates, brothers Jim and Chris Ridges, and sister Laura Brauneis. Donations may be made to Hospice of the East Bay. A celebration of her life will be held at a later time.

Stephanie was one of the sweetest people I knew at San Meto High. She and I were members of a 'Y' group. So wished we had been closer. Judy ([email protected])
