Stephanie Wang Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 18, 2025.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, Stephanie Shinray Wang, who passed away on July 6, 2025, at the age of 31, due to complications from Moyamoya disease. In keeping with her wishes, Stephanie's organs were donated through the "Gift of Life" organization. In doing so, she was truly a hero, saving multiple lives through her generous gift.

Stephanie was born on July 15, 1993, at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, NYC. From an early age, she shone brightly-reading by age three and excelling in piano and math puzzles by six. She nurtured a deep love for Greek mythology, biology, botany, manga, and classic literature such as the The Iliad and

The Odyssey by Homer. She also cherished the musicals of Andrew Lloyd Webber, especially Cats and The Phantom of the Opera.

Stephanie graduated from Rutgers University in December 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Mathematics and minoring in Biological Science. During her time at Rutgers, she was honored with the Scarlet Scholarship. She completed rigorous coursework including Honors Calculus II, Multivariable Calculus, Mathematical Theory of Probability, Cryptography, and Introduction to Computer Science.

Her professional journey included internships at Educational Testing Services in Princeton, NJ, where she contributed to updating progress reports, liaising with College Board personnel, and problem-solving logistics challenges. Earlier, she interned at Corning Incorporated in Shanghai, China, assisting with scheduling, communications, and translating company documents from Chinese to English. Stephanie also gained valuable work experience at Mathematica in Princeton Junction and the New Jersey State Treasury Department, where her dry humor and vibrant spirit endeared her to colleagues and supervisors alike.

Stephanie was an introvert who could function as an extrovert in professional settings. She was highly skilled in Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, Excel, PowerPoint, and had knowledge of Java programming and SAS. Her linguistic talents included fluency in Mandarin Chinese and eight years of French studies through high school and college.

A passionate botany hobbyist, writer, and sketch artist, Stephanie dedicated much of her spare time to creative pursuits. She was actively involved in community garden projects, nurturing green spaces with love and care. Her hobbies also included fishing, crabbing, vegetable gardening, exploring national parks across all 50 states-especially Acadia National Park in Maine and Mount Rainier in Washington-nature hiking, spinning wool, origami, knitting, crochet, and creative writing. She was a member of the Go Club, enjoying the strategic challenges of the game.

Stephanie was a devoted animal lover, sharing her life with her beloved Labrador retriever, Sparky, for 14 wonderful years, and her two cherished tabby cats, Bonbon (12 years) and Biscotti (2 years). For years, she found comfort and peace in the calming voice of Enya.

Stephanie is survived by her loving parents, Manhong Liu and Pei Wang, along with extended family and friends.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Stephanie's life will be held on July 26, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at 4201 Schindler Drive, Monmouth Junction, NJ 08852. All who knew and loved her are warmly invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to causes close to Stephanie's heart: the Moyamoya Disease Research Foundation (80%), the Animal Rescue Foundation (10%), and the West Windsor Community Gardening Association (10%). Donations can be sent via Zelle to:

Manhong Liu: 609-356-4965

Pei Wang: 609-356-3124

Your generosity and support during this difficult time are deeply appreciated.

Stephanie was a great, friendly, caring co-worker! She made origami and gave me a plant. I always enjoyed our chats. And have always cherished these gifts.

I think of Stephanie's smile when I was her cheerleading coach. Her enthusiasm was beautiful and she remains a cheerleader in my heart.

I´m heartbroken over Stephanie´s passing. She was such a kind, thoughtful, and bright young woman, mature beyond her years, with a sincere heart and a gentle spirit.

Over the years, I´ve cherished the small, beautiful moments with her, the peppercorns she picked herself, the potted lily from Philadelphia, and the zucchini she grew with love and care. Each gift reflected her warmth, generosity, and quiet strength.

Her memory will always stay with us
