Missing Steve's fun loving nature. He always had a smile and stories to tell that made you feel good about life. Even when times were stressful at work, he gave you his warm smile. Miss lunches with Steve too. He always made lunch time an adventure in trying new hors d'oeuvre.

Steve was a teammate and roommate of mine at Texas A&M. I had intended to reconnect with him, but sadly find I waited too long. I shared his love for good food, great music, fast cars, the law, and and deep conversation. I'll never forget driving from College Station to Houston with Steve one evening to get the last tickets for the premier of 2001 A Space Odyssey. We were so tired after swim practice that we almost fell asleep during the "light show" scene. He will be missed!

Steve had been a wonderful neighbor for over forty years. Taking over the cats will be hard. He will be missed by both humans and felines.

Steve will always be remembered by his friends and colleagues at the office of chief counsel. He always went out of his way for people and I hope he knew how much we treasured his friendship. We will keep him in our hearts and prayers.

Steve's obituary sounds like he may have written it; it captures his wit and spirit perfectly. I'm grateful for his friendship. Although he retired 11 years ago from Chief Counsel, he was welcomed back for the Steve Ash lunches. Capital Grille was his favorite. I look forward to meeting him at a future time over a nice bowl of lobster bisque.

To the Ash Family: My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.

Steve touched so many lives at Chief Counsel office. I will treasurer the time I had to know him. Steve was always generous with his time at work, sharing delicious chocolates from his world travels and the stories of Ferrari's and travel, along with donuts he brought to share at coffees.

Kathy: Mom showed me the paper this morning about Steve's passing. I thought the obituary was unique and told the story of Steve very well. I will always remember living next door to you and Steve on Nobles Street where we all had a good time growing up. You and your family are in our prayers for peace and comfort.
GOD Bless
