I am remembering my dear brother in law Steve Atherton on the upcoming fifth anniversary of his death on July 4th. Steve was a wonderful man, a great husband and father, and a true patriotic American. I think of him often and miss him deeply, realizing he is now fully at home with God in eternity.

Kathy and family, we were so sorry to hear of Stephens passing and sorry we can not make it for the services. Stephen was quite a guy and we always loved talking to him. Hearing him talk about his experiences with Windy and the antics they would get into made us roll with laughter. Knowing he is at peace and with the Lord will be some comfort in the days to come. We will remember him and you in our thoughts and prayers.

Steve was a wonderful family member-- a beloved brother-in-law, a kind friend, and a great uncle to our children. He was a hard worker, maintaining county roads year round in all kinds of weather. Steve was also a dedicated leader in his community, devoting long hours to accomplishing important business for the town of Couderay. Further, he was a patriotic American who served his country in uniform, and who played his bugle while marching in Fourth of July parades. On many occasions, he and his wife Kathy opened their home and hearts to our family during our summer visits. We will miss Steve deeply. However, our many fond memories of him will remain with us always.
