Joshua Buck & family

Joshua Buck

April 29, 2012

Hey all,

Thanks for all the notes, the Buck family appreciates it & I know he loved you guys. I found out that his childhood friends called him Steve BuQeen, after Steve McQueen, because he was quite the man's man. He taught me how to ski (fast), & how to actually like 120km bike rides. He was pretty fit, so this is quite a shock to us all, but we will see him again.

P.S: always remember his laugh !!!

Regards,

Joshua Buck 1:9

Dear Julia, Laurel & Melanie; Laurel, Martin, Jack & Tom;

Please accept our deepest sympathy for the sudden loss of Stephen.
Laurel & Melanie I would like you to know that our families go way back to the times before your grandparents, Laurel & John were married. Vivian & Stephen Bryan were high school friends, even engineering buddies at university. Your Dad was named after my Dad and they shared similar careers as engineers. Our family of four girls were lucky to meet your Dad and your three uncles over the years. Your grandparents joined us for many Easter dinners at our home in Montreal, sharing stories of their youth and raising their children with my mom and our family.
Your family is in all of our hearts.

Our hearts are broken with the news of Steve's passing!

We fondly remember the years of laughter we shared. Steve, with his happy go lucky grin, almost mischievous at times and his positive outlook on life, left that positive outlook on everybody he touched.

Steve will always be with us.

Deepest Sympathy,

Bruce & Lorna

Dear Julia, Laurel, Melanie and the rest of the Buck family. My heart goes out to you all during this time. Over the years working with Stephen he has been a great source of wisdom, knowledge, laughter and inspiration. Stephen was so proud of his girls, always telling us about what you were up to. In my family, when someone we know passes on, we always ask my grandma to have a pot of tea ready to welcome them, so I've asked her to put on the kettle for Stephen.

My heart is broken for you to have lost Stephen so suddenly, I express my deepest condolences and sympathy. My desk at work is directly outside his office and in the year that I have been there, I have learned what an intelligent, open, and caring man he is. I would hear him talk on the phone with his family and admired how involved he was with his family and took care of them. He always had an open door and took the time to have a conversation with anyone and everyone about his passions for biking, skiing, cars, and even politics. I will truly miss his presence. Sending prayers of strength during this time.

Dear Julia, Laurel and Melanie (Laurel, Martin, Jack, Tom and family).

Our hearts and thoughts are with you at this sad time. Memories of the Buck and Canning Families fill my mind at this time as I remember the screen doors slamming as we all would run down to the lake for a swim (Red Pine Lake in Danford Lake, Quebec). Steven and his brothers were always so fit and would laugh as they competed with each other doing handstands etc in the yard. We loved it always when the family would come up for the summer and we could hear the laughter and talking amongst the Red Pines. So to all of your family we Pecks/Wilsons send our love and prayers to all of you. All our love.

Dear Julia, Laurel and Melanie,
We are totally perplexed and sadden by the sudden loss of our good friend Steve. Our family was looking forward to many more years of spending many more good times together drinking Steve's great beer. In the past years, we have got to know you as a family, there was always a good joke and a comfortable presence when visiting you. We will truly miss Steve. We will always treasure our memories of our time spent with your family and look forward to spending even more time with you Julia and your girls in the future. Please do not hesitate to ask if there is anything we can help you with at this time or anytime in the future. I was looking at pictures today hoping to find some of Steve and found a lovely one of your family. May God give you strength to endure your loss. Love Carmen, Cliff, Siobhan, Annemarie, Matthew, Patrick and all the rest of our family.

I am shocked and saddened by this news. Stephen and I spent many hours on the phone while working for the Jackpine project. He was a true gentleman and a great groundwater modeler. I too wanted to continue working with him in the future. We will definitely miss him.

Dear Julia and family,
Could you please find through this letter my sincerest condolences on the death of Stephen Buck. I joined KCB three months ago and Stephen has been very helpful and I have some great time with him. Stephen was a devoted employee and a fantastic co-worker. Just my three months period spent with him, I noticed that he was a very skilled and devoted groundwater modeller.
Again, please accept my deepest sympathies.
