Stephen F. Carper

November 24, 1948 - February 8, 2021 Stephen Carper, 72, of Cypress, CA passed away on February 8, 2021 surrounded by his wife and children. Steve was born on November 24, 1948 to Frank and Rita Carper in Eagle Rock, CA. He attended Sacred Heart grammar school in Covina. After graduating from Don Bosco Technical High School, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam war. Steve received his B.S. and Master's degree in Business Administration from California State University Long Beach. In 1978, Steve married Carol Brooks in Long Beach, CA. Together they raised four children Elise, Lauren, Matthew and Colleen. Steve was an accomplished Sales Executive in the healthcare industry for over 35 years. His career began at Shared Medical Systems (SMS) where he worked for 20 years and held many leadership positions. After leaving SMS Steve joined Eclipsys Corporation as Senior Vice President and worked in Canada, Asia, and Europe until his retirement. Steve was a devout Catholic, devoted husband, loving father and grandpa, and friend to all. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. Besides spending time with family and friends he loved traveling the world, playing golf, attending sporting events, and meeting new people. Steve was the life of every party with his bright and energetic personality. Many lives were touched by his generosity, advice, and passion for life. Steve is survived by his wife of 42 years, Carol; children Elise (Matthew) Ozawa, Lauren (Austin) Wicevich, Matthew Carper, and Colleen (John) Featherman; grandchildren Ashlyn, Kendall, Kiera, Brock, and Noah; sister Maureen, brother Michael, and niece Erica. Steve is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Rita, and sisters Sharon and Catherine. Services will be held Wednesday, April 14 at 10:30am, at St. Irenaeus Church in Cypress, CA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to St. Irenaeus Parish School in Cypress, CA or Wells of Life, Inc.
