I considered Steve a friend and mentor. He was what they call a gentlemans gentleman . If only I will be remembered as half the man Steve was, my life would be worthwhile. May all your family and friends share his memory forever.

We knew Stephen as part of our Silver Sneakers Exercise Group at the Jordan YMCA. He was well liked and an inspiration to all in our group. He will be remembered. Our prayers and best wishes goes out to his entire family.

Our dad, Dal Benefiel worked with Steve as a fellow Sr. Account Agent at Allstate for 44 years before passing away in February, 2000. At the time, dad was trying to plan and coordinate his retirement on the same day that his good friend Steve Chaleff would retire. Both our Mom and Dad often spoke of what a great person Steve was and had the utmost respect for him, as well as his wife Katie whom they were able to join together on many Allstate sales trips. Our best goes out to Katie and Steve's entire family during this difficult time. Kevin and Steve Benefiel

Stephen Chaleff was the insurance agent for my parents,Thomas W Englert and Jane F Englert,of Carmel,IN.I only remember him coming over to the house once but was very impressed by his attention to customer service and his knowledge.I mean, who makes house calls these days?????A good, dedicated man,who will be missed by family and friends. My parents, who are no longer with us,would agree.Rest in peace,Mr Chaleff.

Steve was a wonderful person. He was kind and helpful to every person he met. I had the pleasure of working with him for many years and am so sorry he is gone. However he is now with GOD and is smiling even more

I had the distinct pleasure of supporting Steve's Allstate agency for several years. I found him to be a true professional, a good agent, and an even greater person. I will keep his family in my prayers. I am a better person from having known him.

We knew Steve through Silver Sneakers classes at the Jordan YMCA. He was always so friendly and such a gentleman. And he introduced us to Bee Gie Adair's music. He will be remembered and missed.

Steve was my first agent when I started with Allstate Underwriting in 1974. When I became an agent in 1977 Steve became my mentor. He was a gentleman's gentleman. I have patterned my whole career after Steve's guiding path. We are all better people for having known such a wonderful man. I look forward to talking with him again when we meet in heaven.
