Stephen Fields Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 5, 2025.
Stephen "Steve" Fields, 62, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away on January 6, 2025, surrounded by loving family and friends. Born on April 4, 1962, at Portsmouth Naval Hospital, Steve was the beloved child of the late Carl and Ruby Fields.

Steve grew up in Virginia Beach and attended Kellam High School, graduating with the Class of 1980. During his school years, he had a passion for sports, excelling in football and track. Following high school, he served as a Ranger in the U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Lewis in Washington during the early 1980s. After completing his military service, he remained in Washington state before returning to Virginia Beach in 1990 to be closer to family.

While living in Washington, Steve had the unique opportunity to appear in two films, *I Love You to Death* and *Three Fugitives*, an experience he took great pride in. However, his professional career was rooted in the cabinet industry, where he worked in sales for over 30 years. Steve built lasting relationships with colleagues and customers alike, rarely seeing them as anything other than friends.

Steve embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. His presence was unmistakable-when he entered a room, everyone knew it. He loved playing golf and had a passion for karaoke, filling his home with music and laughter. His house was always open to friends, and he never met a stranger. Throughout his life, he remained close to his childhood friends and valued those connections deeply.

A man of strong faith and unwavering devotion to family, friends, and country, Steve lived with a generous heart. Even in his final moments, he demonstrated his selflessness by choosing to be an organ donor-a final act of giving that saved countless lives. His kindness and generosity will continue to inspire those who knew him.

Steve is survived by his loving wife, Robin; his brother Carl Eric (Betsy); his sister Debbie (Herbert); and numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his older brother Michael.

A Celebration of Life will be held on April 5, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Providence Mennonite Church, located at 5363 Old Providence Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23464. Guests are invited to gather for food and fellowship in the attached Fellowship Hall following the service as they remember and celebrate Steve's remarkable life.

Steve's legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort and joy to those who were fortunate enough to share in his journey.
