Was thinking about him today, as I prepare to train staff for a French/Spanish Immersion school. I tried looking him up and found this obit. What a wonderful man and friend. I adored him. I took French and Spanish with him at MHS and he was funny, smart, and really seemed to love teaching. He also commanded respect - which allowed real learning to happen. I worked in Brussels for a while as well as Barcelona, all the while knowing it all started because of him. He also loved opera and I sent him a copy of a program from the first opera I did with San Francisco Opera and he sent back a note. Lovely words from a lovely man. My grandmother died the night before graduation and my family wasn't there, but wanted me to graduate. He knew - I don't know how. He found me walking home alone and gave me a small bouquet of flowers. He reached across that teacher/student line, and I will always cherish that moment. There is a saying in Hebrew; translated it means "may you be sealed for a blessing in the book of lives well-lived". He deserves many such blessings. Deb Lipkowitz, MHS Class of '72

I Adored Stephen Giordano when I had him as a Spanish V Advanced Teacher in Massapequa back in 1976-77.
So sad he's gone.
Que Lástima!

Thank you for being a wonderful teacher, for making learning fun. All the French I learned from you is still on my tongue today for over 35 years. Every time I read Candide by Voltaire, en Francais, I think of you. Rest In Peace kind sir. You will be missed.
