Stephen Fox Goodman

Stephen died peacefully at home in Manhattan on May 21. Adoring father of Andrew (Cassandra), Jennifer (Mark Feldman) and Robert (Stephanie), and beloved grandfather "Dap" to Jared, Sydney, Jacob, Joshua, Elliot and Zachary. He was married for 44 years to Joyce (Blum) Goodman, who passed away in 2009. Stephen was born in Brooklyn to Jack and Dorothy Goodman and raised in Rockville Centre where he was an Eagle Scout. He is survived by his brother Laurence and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. His brother Edward died in 2022. Stephen graduated from Colgate University, University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, and Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery, where he also served as an Associate Clinical Professor. He served as a Captain in the US Air Force stationed in Goose Bay, Labrador. Dr. Goodman maintained a private practice in Manhattan and was an active leader in the dental community, authoring numerous professional papers, and serving as President of American Academy of Periodontology. Stephen enjoyed travel, photography, tennis and sailing. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, University of Pennsylvania Goodman/Feldman Endowed Family Scholarship, or Pan-Mass Challenge.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 11:30AM at Jewish Community Center of Harrison.
