Stephen N. Grega, 69, of Monroe, died Saturday, July 19th at St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on November 7, 1944, he was the son of the late Andrew and Mary Divorsky Grega and had been a lifelong area resident. Stephen was a U.S. Navy veteran. Prior to his retirement , Stephen was a police officer who served the town of Monroe for 32 years. He is survived by a nephew Robert Grega of Plymouth, CT and a cousin Eleanor A. Burke of Stratford, CT. A Memorial Gathering will be held Thursday, August 7th from 5 to 7pm at the Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe. Rest well Steve... I remember your pet store in Monroe .. Loved going there.. You and Patti were wonderful.. So very sad.. as an officer you were a favorite among a lot of us... Always fair.. And funny... You will be missed...
