The McGuirks were second family to everyone and "The Monahans" were one of them. We were at their house with a group of friends, and likewise they were at ours. Shaker Farms was another home for us as well, whether golfing or swimming or Lake Winnipesauke. As neighbors of Shaker Heights, those were the days that we had neighborhood get togethers-picnics, dances, block parties. You don't see that anymore. Stephen McGuirk was a special guy and we will sadly miss him.

Joie, Of course this is so beautifully written... you have that touch. Ride the waves of your grief, surrender to your broken heart, and the time will come when you feel him with you in the most intimate... way that brings comfort and warmth into your days.

To the entire McGuirk Family,
I had the pleasure of growing up next door to the McGuirk family in Westfield. We were like one big family. Although, Steve was older than me, I would see him when I was over the house visiting with his sister Sue. I do remember him with a big smile always on his face. He was much too young to pass! May God´s grace be with you all at this most difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dear Nancy & Frank, it was a beautiful, but strange coincidence (the similarities) that we all met that one night in June on the side of a mountain in a little chalet on the blue ridge parkway- Love and good health to you both- Joie (Joyce) McGuirk

The positive impact Steve had on me and my family is immense and will last many lifetimes, yet, it pales to the the loss for his amazing family.
My heart is broken for all of you and quite simply, I love you man.

The McGuirks had an enormous positive impact on my life when I really needed it. Steve was one of the kindest and generous men I have ever met. This is a huge loss for anyone that had the pleasure of spending time with him. Lots of love and prayers for the McGuirks.
