ARKOE, Mo. - Stephen Wayne Van Fossan, 63, Arkoe, died Thursday, June 21, 2007, at his home.
He was born Dec. 6, 1943, in Maryville, the son of Robert and Margaret (Wise) Van Fossan. They preceded him in death.
A 1961 graduate of South Nodaway High School, Barnard, Mo., he served our country in the United States Army.
Steve was a heavy equipment operator for many years with Ideker Construction Company and more recently for a number of years with Loch Sand and Construction. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Barnard. Stephen was also a member of Operating Engineers 101, St. Joseph, and the James Edward Gray American Legion Post No. 100, Maryville.
Survivors include his sister, Lynn Bram, Maryville; daughters, Stephanie and Stacy; several grandchildren; a niece, Lea Marriott, Clearmont; a nephew, Vince Twaddell, Clarinda, Iowa; and a great-nephew, Cole Phillips, Maryville.
Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 26, at the Barnard American Legion Cemetery Barnard. Military services will be provided by the James Edward Gray American Legion Post No. 100, Maryville.
Memorials may be sent to the Barnard American Legion Cemetery, c/o Ted Parker, 503 Fifth St., Barnard, Mo. 64423, or Maryville First Baptist Church Building Fund, 121 E. Jenkins St., Maryville, Mo. 64468.
