WALLACE, Stephen T. Age 69, of Quincy, died peacefully, Thursday, April 24, 2014, at the Quincy Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. Steve was born in Boston, raised and educated in Boston schools and attended the former Don Bosco High School. He has lived in Quincy for forty-seven years, previously in Dorchester. He was a proud member of the IATSE Local 11 for over forty years and worked in Boston as a stage hand. He later worked as a sound technician for NBC News in Boston for fifteen years where he earned two Emmy Awards and has been retired for several years. During his career, his assignments took him throughout the United States and as far away as Egypt. In 1976, he had the opportunity to sail on the Romanian tall ship, the Mercia from Bermuda to Newport, Rhode Island for our countrys bi-centennial celebration. Steve served in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially in the Florida Keys and the Baja Peninsula, with his friend Mike. He was a competition pistol shooter and participated in many matches at Camp Perry in Ohio. He was a longtime member and range officer at the Braintree Rifle and Pistol Club. Beloved husband and best friend for forty-six years of Sandra A. (Foster) Wallace. Devoted father of Stephen T. Wallace, Jr., Detective, Braintree Police Dept. and his wife Michelle of Braintree, Sandra A. Antonino and her husband Stephen of Marshfield. Loving grandfather of Patrick and Sean Wallace, Lia and Lyla Antonino. Dear brother of Ronald Wallace of Plymouth, Elizabeth Anne Santangelo of Quincy, Kathleen Nelson of Braintree, Susan Powers of Braintree, Debra Mehigan of Quincy, Tracey Wallace of Braintree and the late Gerard Wallace. Steve was loved by all, including his aunt, his many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, QUINCY, Friday, May 2nd at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint Marys Church, 95 Crescent Street, West Quincy at 10 oclock. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours at the funeral home Thursday 4 8 p.m. Interment with Military Honors at Saint Marys Cemetery in West Quincy.
