It was many years ago, but we still remember the friends we made in South Bend. Reading about Steve's death, although the last time we saw you was over thirty years ago, brings great sadness, but reading about his life well spent is joyous.
Stay well Gerry.

To Dr. Geraldine Wallace.
I was so saddened to hear of Dr. Stephen Wallace's passing. May I offer you my sincere condolences. It was a privilege to have known you both during my working years at the University of Toronto and to have assisted you with your research projects. I always found Dr. Wallace to be a wonderful and helpful person to deal with over the years. Again, I offer my condolences to all his friends and family.

Geraldine, You and Stephen were the first scientists I met as a child living across the street from you. Stephen will be missed for his impact in many circles, scientific and artistic, at both global and local levels.

Stephen had so much zest for life that his death comes as a shock. Not enough room in an obituary notice for all his interests and accomplishments, such as the artistic flair he brought to redecorating houses in the midst of all the globe-trotting and abode-changing. Sincere condolences--Heather Jackson, Toronto
