Merrilyn, I am so sorry for your loss. Sterlin was a tremendous individual and a wonderful addition to the Barton Historical Society. We greatly appreciate his contributions. I loved the time I got to spend with you and Sterlin at the Annual Reunions.

So sorry for your loss, Merrilyn. Sterlin was one of the first to welcome me to GWMN and he showed a great interest in me as well as the other students. My daughter enjoyed him at Jr.MN. He was always a joy to be around. My prayers are with you and the family.

I just took the Master Naturalist training, and Sterlin set the tone of a friendly, welcoming class. He took care of all our students. Marilyn as well. And to you Marilyn and all your family, my sincere sympathy on your loss.

My mom and I loved sterlin like he was our own family, as did so many people. I cherish his friendship. The world was a better place with him here. There is less laughter now.

As a new member of the Good Water Chapter this year, I looked forward to talking with Sterlin at our meetings. He was very welcoming and helpful. He always shared his recent family outings. He was truly a friend to all.

Marilyn,
I am saddened by Sterlin's early call to the Heavenly Kingdom. As I write this note to you I think of the many times he and I would head to Dirty Martin's at lunch for a burger or to El Patio. The fun time as we painted the cafeteria for Sr. Philomena as we drank the beer she served. As we loaded my pickup truck with the food to take to Camp Ben McCullough and later to Pease Park for Seton's annual picnics. And then as he, Mr. Christenson and I would roast wieners for the hungry Seton employees. Our mutual thrill as the Lady Longhorns went undefeated and won the National Championship and not missing a game for many years. I can still visualize the Seton gang - you and Sterlin, Barbara Barton, Elizabeth Clarke, Cathy Fontane, David and Sandra Risher, Arron and his wife, et all, down below from where we sat. Or, just sitting and eating lunch together in the cafeteria discussing whatever.
As Seton grew in size and many things changed we saw less of each other and certainly when I retired and as you'll moved to eastern Williamson County we lost contact. But, that friendship still remained in my heart.
May the blessings of the Lord ease the pain in your heart for your loss which all of his friends share with you.

I recently came into the Goodwater Master Naturalist Chapter and met Sterlin. He was, and always will be, a mentor to me.

Sterlin was such a special person - great sense of humor and such a hard worker. He will be missed in the Good Water Chapter both as a leader and as a friend to many of us.
My thoughts and prayers are with Merrilyn and the rest of the family as they grieve this loss. May God help you focus on the wonderful memories to give you peace and comfort!
